The Role
We are seeking Junior Analysts to work from either New York or Washington D.C. starting in January 2026. Junior Analyst positions are suitable to recent graduates able to work on a full-time (30-40 hours per week) basis. This position is paid hourly, and candidates that excel during the Spring will be offered a full-time, salaried Researcher position in June 2026.
This role is designed to give recent graduates initial exposure to the industry, rigorous training and mentoring by Barbican managers, and the opportunity for a full-time job offer at the conclusion of the program. It is ideal for those interested in a career at the nexus of international affairs and business.
As a Junior Analyst, you will work closely with Barbican’s management team to help execute in-depth research projects across a range industries and jurisdictions. Junior Analysts use databases, advanced online research techniques, and interviews to gather data. You will carry out intensive research and analysis of large amounts of information, assessing it for accuracy, reliability and relevance. Sources will include media reporting, court filings, company registers and many more. Supported and supervised by project managers, you will produce high quality written analysis that meets the needs of our world-class clients.

The Requirements
You will have the following qualifications and skills:
Recent graduate (master’s degree preferred) from a leading academic institution. Graduates in the humanities, international relations, journalism, political science, economics are particularly welcomed.
Extremely strong English-language writing skills are essential. Fluency in one of the following languages is also preferred: Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese.
Previous work or volunteer experience that required conducting interviews is a plus. This might be in the form of journalism, political canvassing, soliciting alumni donations, conducting market research or prospecting customers.
Curiosity - the desire to get to the bottom of complex issues and explain them well to clients.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload and work under pressure.
Ability to work as part of a multinational team of colleagues, including in other countries.
